Postcard Poem Rules
August 3, 2006
Such as they are… rules are made to be broken…
- First draft, best draft… in pen, directly on the postcard, on-the-spot corrections allowed but no rewrites
- Any kind of less-than-letter-sized format is fine: correspondence cards, greeting cards, honest-to-god postcards
- Subject may or may not have anything to do with pictures or art, if any, on the postcards
- Blank cards decorated with your art, doodles, or what have you (no matter how artistically challenged you are) are encouraged
- Mail it to someone!
The rule of all rules: only the first and last of the five rules are really important…

That sounds great… but does it have to be a ‘poem’… as i don’t write poetry… but have thought i’d write and send… or quotes that i enjoy… I’d like to see more on this topic.

I think any kind of writing works… the point is the drafting and then the commitment of sending it away…
